Hindu Mythology & Yoga Philosophy Immersion

Open to those with a deep curiousity about Yoga’s stories and perspectives, this immersion is an experience to enter the mythical realm set among the hills and lochs of Scotland. 

Immerse yourself in the beauty and wonders of the Tradition of Yoga. Together, we will learn captivating stories from India and explore different perspectives and concepts from the Hindu tradition. Our gathering offers a combination of history and philosophy lectures, storytelling during asana practices and meditation, as well as spending time outdoors.

Realms we will traverse include:

  • Hindu stories contained in texts such as the Mahabharata, the Ramayana and the Puranas

  • The energetic current and characteristics of Gods and Goddesses, including, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Kali, Parvati, Ganesha, Durga, Hanuman and more

  • The history of Yoga

  • Philosophical schools of Yoga, including Patanjalis Classical Yoga and Tantra

  • Primary concepts such as dualism/non-dualism, karma, samsara, libration, suffering and more

  • An overview of philosophical texts such as The Yoga Sutras, The Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Upanashads

Example Schedule:

7am - 10am - Story telling Vinyasa + Meditation

10am - 12pm - Break

12pm - 6pm - History & Philosophy lectures (+ a break)

Monday, August 26th at 10:00am until Friday, August 30th around 3/4pm.

Location: Balquhidder Community Hall

Tuition: £650

Accommodation: Balquhidder is a small village tucked away in the hills about 90 minutes from Glasgow. Accommodation must be booked well in advance due to the limited number of options. For this specific occasion we have booked out a stunning Airbnb literally across the road from the village hall (see pictures below). The Old Pink Library has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom is shared. The cost for a private room and shared bath is £150/night. The cost for a shared room and shared bath is £125/night. If you would like to purchase accommodation please purchase in addition to your deposit. If you would rather book accommodation on your own, we can provide a list of contacts once you have paid your deposit.

It is easiest to have a car however carpooling can be arranged with other guests.

An upfront non refundable payment of £100 is required to hold your space. The balance is due by August 25th. Payment plans are available by request. Please email for more info.

Any teacher using this course for CPD will be awarded 35 credits.
