A Pathway to Deepening your Relationship with Yoga
Curious to learn more about the Tradition of Yoga?
Yoga Wisdom Studies shares the path of Yoga by using ancient Yoga texts, such as The Yoga Sutras, The Bhagavad Gita and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, with an emphasis on the physical asana practice to offer an embodied and grounded experience. This program offers an opportunity to study the richness of Yoga in an extended format that allows for an immersive, dedicated study of this Tradition.
The experience will unfold with a group of like minded people in a way that gives time to practice and integrate the content. Please note that the study of Yoga is not just within the given material; self-practice, self-study and weekly gatherings are required for the entire duration of this program.
Yoga Wisdom Studies draws upon the teachings of the ancient practice and weaves it into present-day living. After a year together, a doorway will have opened that you will be supported to continue walking through in your own unique way. There will be an option for a small group to continue their studies for a final 4 month program to learn how to share Yoga. Several assessments must be passed to enter this portion of the program.
Please note the Autumn 2024 intake consists of two in-person intensives, weekly practices and some self paced content. The intensives must be in person, the weekly classes can be done live streamed. Each topic will also be open to the public, our 300 hr YTT and woven in The Kali Collective timetable.

What YWS students are saying…

If anyone is interested in Yoga Wisdom Studies they may have the same reservations that I had. That I didn’t want to teach, that I couldn’t hold advanced poses the way teachers do and that it was a whole year of study. Fortunately for me I overcame these reservations and followed my curiosity into a world behind the poses. A world where gods and goddesses are explained in a fun way. You form bonds of friendship with a group of people who are equally curious and together you learn about the muscles and bones that are used in each pose. There are lots of physical workshops which bring together the stories and the poses. If an old fart like me can get through the physical stuff then there is nothing to stop anyone from signing up. Be curious, get involved. Gain a greater understanding of all that is unseen behind each pose. You will not regret it.

I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of yoga and take their physical practice to the next level. The sequencing of the lectures and physical practices really allowed me to take the theory I learned and apply it to my mat. I have much more awareness in my body and have cultivated a daily practice this has really improved my general well-being and sleep. It’s been an absolute pleasure to learn from Steph. Her passion and dedication to yoga shines through her teaching and she makes learning a really accessible and enjoyable experience. I’ve also met a really great bunch of people in the yoga wisdom studies group and the connections I’ve made have been a lovely added bonus of the course!

I entered that course without knowing if actually I would have the time to complete it. I did a few training with Steph, and I know how passionate she is and how she communicates her love for this tradition so well. So I am now just over half of this course, and I am LOVING it! Even if I can't attend all lessons and lectures, I catch up when I can, on my own time, and still feel like part of the Kali community, which is beautiful. The advanced asana practices are amazing. It's very long, but so good to practice for so long together because we really go into the depth, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel very safe and challenged. The anatomy module I did was for my 300 hours teaching training, and this has definitely had a very positive impact on me, my body awareness and my own Yoga practice and teaching. Yoga history is just great. Steph explains it so well; there is not one module that she is not passionate about. Philosophy and mythology of Yoga are absolutely wonderful modules. Also, a last point is that the people who attend this course are all very nice, kind, and open. So a huge thank you to Steph, for being so generous, so cool, compassionate, funny and the Kali Collective will always stay a very special place to come. We feel loved and valued.
